PhotoMill: The Image Converter App Reviews

I’m a photographer, so I needed a software that would allow me to put a copyright stamp AND a JPG logo watermark. I’ve checked out probably 20+ different aps, all sucked in one way or another, but this app does just exactly what I needed it to and effeciently I might add! I am able to create specific criteria around the size of the final image, where the watermarks are placed, etc… and I am able to do it in big batches. It doesn’t take too long to process a few hundred images, which impressed me and it seems from a first glance to be very flexible. I would buy it again in a second. This app has already saved me monsterous amounts of time. Now I’m ready to post away to FB! Thanks Developers!! This app ROCKS!!!

Excellent pro-level image browser/converter. Fast, intuitive and user-friendly, but sophisticated enough. For the Mac (my case), good investment and essential, as OS X is still lacking a good set of pro-user image processing applications.

I was looking for an app to allow me to specify the “camera” used. I shoot film, so all my scans come across with nothing in the Camera EXIF field. This app only allows you to change the time and add IPTC tags.

Works very well for adding GPS coordinates to photos as well as adding/editing other EXIF data. I have yet to explore its many, other capabilities but expect they will work as well. It is certainly worth the price - and that is for my singular (so far) purpose. Enjoy!

I had batches of photos with the time zone wrong. I could open the contents of the catalog, drop the files into this app and presto, change the time by 9 hours. I could also add copyright info.

I purchased PhotoMill to update my old photos that I have scanned and also from cameras that do not have a GPS. It has been great at setting creation or other dates, updating file names, etc. I had some questions on how to set the GPS for some photos and contacted Overmacs. They responded within the day and we confirmed that what I was trying to do was not easy. The team created an updated version of their application within two days to address my question which I tested and it worked great. They also were very accepting of other suggestions that I had for the next release. This is a great product with a responsive team behind it.

I have used and tested a LOT of batching software and this is by far and away the best!! I don’t remember how much I paid, but it was worth it.

This is a very solid editor that handles batch processing particularly well. My main use case I was looking for, was to geotag my photos. PhotoMill can handle 1000’s of files, in my case RAW and high-res TIFFs (several gigs in size) and it does it without a hitch. I’ve also used it for copying & renaming files in large batches, again, without issue. Two things I’ve noticed so far that could be improved though: - Selection of multiple photos in the browser. Currently, it doesn’t seem like shift-selection works. It only selects one file at a time, instead of selecting all from the first to the next clicked image. Yes, there is mouse selection that can select multiples, however if you have a batch of 1000 files and you need to select the middle 350, mouse selection is not practical. Assuming the lacking shift-click is a bug, as that’s a fairly standard function. - The reverse of "File Creation to Capture Date” (check manual). There are instances where I would like to set the file creation date based on the capture date, not vice versa. Aside from that, I’m very happy with the purchase. It does the few things I need it for very well, so the $10 are definitely worth it.

This is an incredibly useful and capable photo batch processor. It will resize, crop, add watermarks, add borders, and much more - pretty much everything you could want - with very flexible settings of parameters and easy, intuitive interface. I’ve been working with digital images for 20 years as a serious hobby and this is the best specialized batch image processor I’ve seen. A steal at this price.

Got married in Hawaii. People took pictures. One camera thought it was the day before, and three hours later. This app made changing those dates SO easy (and fast). Well worth the price.

I upload illustrations to various microstock websites and I use this app to add my IPTC info to the jpegs. I save my jpegs from Illustrator and I never have to open Photoshop. Just drag your jpegs into PhotoMill, add your info, and youre done. A well made app that’s fast!
